A seventh generation Texan, Laura Stehr Peters practices primarily in the areas of professional liability and first party property, doing both insurance counseling and litigation, representing both domestic and foreign insurers. Laura began her career as an in-house Professional Liability Claims Counsel at AIG in New York City. As a result, she understands the concerns and priorities of insurance clients. In addition, she has significant experience in investigating claims and evaluating coverage, potential liability and damages in matters involving financial, legal and insurance professionals. Laura was recognized for her expertise in the professional liability insurance with her appointment by the president of the American Bar Association to the prestigious Standing Committee on Professional Liability.
Laura also has substantial experience acting as supervisory and coordinating counsel for litigation involving complex toxic tort class actions, hurricane property losses, allegations of bad faith and multiple party coverage issues. Current practice includes complex contract negotiation and Insurance policy analysis and negotiated coverage, legal research and advice within the FCPA Corporate Compliance and Ethics space.
